Seprod Limited, leading fast-moving consumer goods company in the Caribbean and manufacturer of Supligen, joined a high-profile Jamaican delegation in London this week to support the NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) campaign encouraging the recruitment of Black heritage blood donors across the United Kingdom.
Representing Seprod were Amanda Sasso, Group Business Development Manager, and Andrew Anguin, Chief Marketing Officer, who participated in a special visit to London’s newest blood donor centre in Brixton on Tuesday, October 21. They joined NHSBT representatives and members of the diaspora to celebrate a landmark collaboration between Jamaica and the UK health system aimed at raising awareness and inspiring blood donation among African and Caribbean communities.
As part of the partnership, Seprod has developed a limited-edition Supligen can for the UK market featuring a QR code that directs consumers to the NHS blood donor registration page. The initiative encourages customers to learn more about blood donation and take action by registering to give blood.
Over 150,000 cans of Supligen Vanilla carrying the campaign message are being distributed across supermarkets throughout the UK, helping to amplify the lifesaving message within Caribbean and Black heritage communities.
Amanda Sasso, Group Business Development Manager at Seprod, said, “Being part of this initiative is an honour for Seprod. As a proudly Jamaican company, we see it as our responsibility to use our platform and our products to make a real impact. This collaboration shows the strength of our Caribbean community and our commitment to supporting public health wherever our consumers are.”
Andrew Anguin, Chief Marketing Officer at Seprod, added, “Supligen represents energy, vitality, and community spirit; values that align perfectly with the NHS blood donation drive. By placing this message and QR code on our cans, we’re turning an everyday product into a call to action. We want to inspire everyone who picks up a Supligen to think about the power of giving blood and saving lives.”
This joint effort among the NHS Blood and Transplant, the Seprod Group, and Supligen’s UK distributor, Wanis International Foods, demonstrates the powerful impact of cross-cultural partnerships in advancing public health.
