Objective/Purpose of the Job:

Carry out quality and food safety monitoring of the process, personnel, equipment and products against established standard to ensure customer satisfaction and company requirements are met.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Execute on-site monitoring routines of critical process parameters for the quality of raw material, intermediate and finished products such as:
  1. Temperatures
  2. Pressures
  3. Flow rates
  4. Residence times and liquid levels in reactors.
  5. Additive dosing rates.
  6. Concentration of additive solutions and mixtures.
  7. Velocities of conveying and filling systems.
  8. Pressure drops in filtration systems.
  9. Storage and environmental conditions.
  10. Weights
  11. Intensities
  12. Sensory
  13. Sanitation activities, environmental controls and others that are defined according to the nature of the processes and that are established in the manuals of norms and applicable procedures.
  1. Notify the responsible department representative and evaluate together the root cause of deviations as well as define the corrective action and ensure that it is carried out in the shortest possible time.
  1. Notify the Quality Control Officer of deviations and irregularities observed and execute the indicated actions, including instructing the shift leader to stop/start the production line if required.
  1. Sample and inspect raw material, intermediate and finished products for quality and based on the results make recommendations for changes as needed.
  1. Collect data on process and product parameters and trend them using Control Charts, so that it can anticipate deviations and request preventive action to be taken.
  1. Monitor GMP compliance in accordance with established protocols.
  1. Collect samples in the process for evaluation. 
  1. Identify areas for improvement and assist with the implementation and monitoring of approved new methods accordingly
  1. Perform any other related duties assigned.

Academic/Technical/Management: Experience and Qualifications:

  1. BSc. Chemistry, Applied Chemistry and related.
  1. Minimum 2 years’ experience in the fats and oils industry or 4 years in a food manufacturing facility.
