JOB SUMMARY

The successful candidate will support the Operational and Engineering Function of the Company with technical support to ensure that fixed assets in the processing areas are consistently fit and reliable; in keeping with the goals and objectives of the organization.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Define, propose and monitor the processing Maintenance and Improvement (M&I) plans and objectives in keeping with the Engineering Policy and Principles.
  2. Lead and coordinate the processing M&I team to achieve the processing objectives.
  3. Ensures that the technical integrity and availability of processing equipment complies with all regulations.
  4. Ensures the implementation of all repairs/modifications resulting from gap assessment, plant audit and notifications.
  5. Ensures that all technicians receive coaching in machinery and line operations skills in relations to the requirement of hygienic engineering.
  6. Schedule and supervise maintenance activities for processing equipment.
  7. Liaise with equipment manufacturers to coordinate maintenance-servicing, upgrades, trouble shooting and training for technical team.
  8. Diagnose and troubleshoot failure of automated UHT processing equipment.
  9. Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  10. Manage projects related to upgrades of the processing equipment.
  11. Ensures adherence to the requirements of Good Engineering Practices, Good Manufacturing Practice, Quality Systems, Hygienic engineering, Ergonomic Engineering, HACCP, OSHAS.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering or other related field from an accredited tertiary institution.
  2. A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in food manufacturing industry or consumer goods industry.
  3. Working knowledge in industrial automation/PLC and Autocad
  4. Experienced with UHT Processing equipment
  5. Good communication, team building and leadership skills
