Job summary
The role supports all activities associated with mixing operations and to provide the accountability that all mixing activities have been consistently performed to meet production specifications and operating standards.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for the mixing of all the required batches of dough in keeping with the product specification, written formulations and mixing procedures
- To record all batch mixes in an accurate and timely basis by completing the production batch sheets
- Check and record the temperature of the dough, shortening, and chill water, and to ensure that they remain with specification
- Liaise with the Rotary Operator regarding each batch mix’s dough quality and consistency and to make any necessary adjustments to subsequent batches of dough mixes
- To instruct the Assistant Mixer in performing mixing operations within procedural and safety standard
- To inform the Quality Department and Shift Supervisor immediately on all issue inimical to ingredients or dough quality and consistency, to ensure food safety and total loss control compliance
- Ensure the safety and hygiene of all mixing ingredients and prepared dough batches
- Arrange raw materials in holding area
- Prepare the initial batch of dough for the incoming production shift, and to communicate all conditions and adjustments made so as to ensure continuity of process
- Ensures that GMP and good Food Safety practices are maintained in the work area
Qualifications
- Secondary Level Education with passes in Mathematics and English Language
- One (1) year work experience in food manufacturing is an asset
Abilities, skills, and experience
- Ability to communicate with supervisor and follow general instructions
- Ability to work in a team and with minimal supervision
- Understanding of Quality standards
- Understanding of Food Safety standards
- Knowledge of GMP and HACCP
